The shadow moved along slowly, often stopping, as if to get a feel of a certain vibe... After a long time the canine paused, taking in a deep breath, and closing her eyes. A light breeze had picked up, and tossed her fur gently. Turning to face Yugi, she nodded.
Look, you have to remember two things before we do this... First, don't listen to anything Max says, if something goes wrong. And second, hold on to the puzzle, no matter what. Do think your ready to try this?
The canine asked, trying to sound gentle, yet firm. She really wasn't even sure what would and could happen, but all of this was worth the risk. Max shifted and looked between the two of them, wondering what her companion may be saying, if anything at all...

The sun shone warmly, despite the cold nip of fall's air, and nary a cloud polluted the clear blue sky this noon. The grass reached out, exchanging the carbon dioxide of a big city for the clean oxygen of nature, and kept on exchanging; their work was never done. Flowers, trees - they too worked to clean the air, but the task was neverending.
And, despite being part of nature itself, a horse tore at the grass with her teeth, clipping it just as efficiently as a lawnmower, and more controlled, though working at a fraction of the pace. The girl perched atop the strawberry roan mare was long-limbed, yet capable of protecting herself, wearing a baggy t-shirt and jeans. Her right hand was at her neck, fingering a large figuring strung there; her left arm supported her as she leaned back over the grazing horse's haunches.
Gradually, she became aware of the three other lifeforms, two humans and a dog. Seeing the dog's strange behavior, Kabé sat up, her left hand now resting on her thigh, and reached out mentally, to see what all the fuss was about.
If you have ever jumped into a pool, finally resolved against the icy water, only to find that it was nearly as hot as a hot tub, you may know how Kabé felt when the dog's mind proved to be receptive to human thoughts already. The surprise made up the largest part of her emotions, but curiosity filled the rest, commanding her to put heels to her horse and wander over there.
Prissy, annoyed at the disturbance, shot her head up, ears flattening with a snort. Silver and copper flashed in the sun as the desert mare picked up a swinging walk-trot, slowing down with the subtle shift of weight that Kabé gave as they neared the others.
Not one to start a conversation, Kabé merely called for Yrior before sidling closer on the slightly ill-tempered mare.

The canine turned and stared for a moment, her gaze at first was lost, as if blinded, but it quickly changed turning cold and protective. As soon as she had spotted that golden cat that hung from the human's neck, she knew right away... Letting out a low growl, she moved swiftly to stand in front of Yugi. For now she couldn't tell if this one was dangerous, and seeking to take the millennium items, as so many before had. 'The shadow' couldn't allow that, or any harm to come to this boy, not now, not when everything was in a delicate balance. Her orange tipped tail swayed back and forth as she stared up at this human, whom also had a spirit.
Max stared between each of them before stepping back, and letting out a deep sigh. Man this was one really messed up dream... Or at least she hoped it was, 'cause so far her companion had taken to this random boy, and then this guy said he could speak to her. And on top of all that, the canine was taking a defensive position against this random person that had come up to them, on a friggin' horse. Oh, my head hurts... She thought leaning on s thick oak tree behind her. Why was she even hangin' around here still, it's not like she was any part of this? Right...
Her mind flashed, trying to pin point that item, the spirit, and everything that went along with it. Unfortunately there was already to worry about with this boy and the spirit of the pharaoh. Damn, this was all too hard, Max was obviously lost, Yugi was vulnerable, and as for this new human, who knew what this one could bring with it.
What are your intentions!
She inquired with a deep bark, not bothering to explain anything, give a name, or a reason. Even if they did want to cooperate, she wouldn't allow anyone to come near Yugi, 'nor would she move away from the boy. Not now, not if they had a chance to fix things, and if she helped this boy, and his spirit, perhaps they would lend her a hand in helping Max...
[It could have been better, but I'm not good at multi-tasking... >.<]

Yugi only blinked his confused amethyst eyes as he watched the new person approach on a horse, feeling a bit nervous he shifted closer to the Canine quietly. He had no idea what was going on now but he didn't seem to even want to understand what was going on...of course he only had that look when he tried to not worry others but that wasn't the reason he had it now. He just remained quiet and held the puzzle closer to him.

Swinging lightly off of her horse, Kabé noticed the shadow at the edge of her vision that was Yrior, seperated to observe the goings-on through her own eyes. Running her hand along Prissy's mohawk of a mane, Kabé muttered a warning to the temperamental beast. Her ears pulled back slightly, some odd talent she had aquired in her life, and responded to the canine with calm, amused thoughts.
Relax, she chuckled. Prissy's the only one who'll even try to hurt you. Or the others. But you know, she's under my control...
Mine, primarily, Yrior interupted
Oh, shut up, Kabé snapped back, though the amusement in her eyes was like that of two siblings fighting. Anyways. What's the deal here?
{haha. Now I'm back to normal...}

Not yet easing up, nor relaxing the large canine stood still. There was much yet to be done, they had to collect the millennium item, use it, hope that they'd all make it out unharmed, and from there... God knows what they'd do then. Shaking her head, 'the observer' tried to clear her mind, thats all she'd need was an over load, after all these years... Stepping forward.
I can only assume that you know of the great pharaoh, and the millennium puzzle, correct? Well, he is in danger, and I intend on helping... I have knowledge of the items, and everything relating to them, from over 5000 years ago, and you may even know who I am... Either way I'm here to do my job, and the rest is for you to come up with...
She spoke, her eyes locked on the human. Speaking in riddles as she often did, she nearly tripped over her own words. But she was really tense, and felt like she was getting in over her head, besides this body wasn't as good for this as her human body had been. Gah, she couldn't think straight... and she had been ordered by the pharaoh himself to remember and record everything... Well this was just great, one slip up after 5000 years... Shaking her head, she continued to glare. Even as the minutes passed, the spirit could very well be in even more danger, making her even more frazzled, and urgent.
[Yes, this is supposed to be confusing! xD]

{For obvious reasons, lol. After this, I'm logging off. Night!}
Deciding it would be easier to be the speaker to this odd creature directly, Yrior took control of the physical body, extracting no complaints from her hikari. Getting straight to the point, the desert-roamer spoke.
Only faintly. I was a tomb protector in the Valley of the Pharohs. There were only about three tombs then, but it was still a job. Anyways, Novik brought news occasionally. It was a very chaotic time. That's why he left "civilization." We were visiting friends when that whole slaughter happened. Disgusting. So, we may not be of much help...but we can still try.
Nodding, even though the canine wouldn't be able to see, Kabé wandered over to the horse, leaning against the sand-toned mare. Whadda ya say, Priss? You ready for some action?

Shaking her head slightly the large canine sighed. Well this just got interesting seeing as now she had another human to watch out for, but perhaps they'd be of use, since they still had use of their millennium item and both the spirits were live and active. Max, had 'lost' her millennium item, and this boy had no idea what the puzzle even was, nor what his spirit was, except for the small bit he had remembered for that split second... Turning slightly, she remained in front of Yugi, still a little wary, and on edge.
Well, can you take orders? Unfortunately in this form I am near useless...
'The shadow' spoke carefully, eying the other with the horse. So today she'd learned what became of two millennium items, and found out of their spirits. Good, she'd have to keep track of this, along with all the information stored in the vault that was the canine's mind. Luckily she had another pair of hands to help, but this was also a deeper risk, to them.... Well, as much as she disliked thinking of every possible outcome of this, she had to know what could go wrong, and if things went right, would they stay like that? well, they'd soon find out...
Pulling her eyes around, she looked to everyone again, noting their presence, before she turned and stared at the building that she had scoped out before the other millennium item holder had come. Her dark gaze fell over it multiple times. It was a simple, rather old building, the siding was rotting and drooping off the sides. By it isn't the outside that counts, it is always what lies within...
This is where the millennium wings are hidden... If any of you are looking for details, names, etc, those will come when everything is over. But before we enter, I must know I have everyone's full trust, otherwise, we will never complete this...
'The observer' spoke openly to both Yugi and the other spirit wielding one. Her eyes roamed over to Max, signaling for one of them to inform her, and make sure that she would also be trusting, though she had no idea what was happening...

{Hope you don't mind bein' skipped again, Yug. >>;}
Orders? As long as I can see why. And don't worry, I'm pretty quick at figuring stuff out. Orders are fine, Kabé added, leaning against Racksha. What's your role in all this, anyways? Both fell silent as the dog looked over an old building. It feels...evil... Not evil, Kabé countered. Just...different.
They stopped talking again as 'the shadow' spoke. "Hey," Yrior said. "The dog says that the Millennium Wings are in that house-thing over there. Eh...all the details will come after this is all over, and she needs to have all our trust. Which, by the way, is a yes from me and Kabé." This last sentance was directed at the dark-toned dog. Kabé looked up, merging into her own body again, and re-mounted the mare. "Prissy and I can fight like this," she explained. "And we're faster, should anything needing speed arise." Something told Kabé that her boring day was about to get interesting fast.
