~Basics~
Name : Kabé Riercu / Yrior
Pronunciation : KAH-beh REE-ehr-koo / EE-ree-ohr
Gender : Female
Orientation : Doesn't Know / Doesn't Know
Age : 15 / 5000-something
Sign : Gemini / Saggitarius
Height : 5'7" / 5'11"
Weight :Now now, that's personal!
~Concerning Millenium Items~
Item :Millenium Talisman
Powers : One may not consider it a very strong power, but empathy to animals is what is given to the two by the Millenium Talisman. Kabé and Yrior are also more exposed to animals, and animals often find it worth their while to help them in need.
For animals with an ancient connection to Yrior or a very strong relationship with Kabé, an almost conversational mental link may be established, as found in Prissy, a roan appaloosa horse (called Racksha by Yrior, as Prissy seems a reincarnation of Yrior's loyal companion of the desert), and in Emmy, Kabé's Siamese Cat.
If something calling for extreme action calls, the Talisman may allow Yrior to change into the shape of some sort of cat, though it leaves the both of them in a coma for a few weeks afterwards.
Description : The Millenium Talisman is a golden amulet in the shape of a regal sitting cat, with the wings of an eagle and the tail of a lion, the ear tufts of a caracal and an eminence of strength, regalty, and independance. Kabé/Yrior wear it on a fine golden chain necklace.
~Appearances~
Ethnicity : Irish-American / Egyptian
Build : Strong, average height / Sleeker, taller
Nobody said Kabé was fat, or even pudgy, but she is definitally not a featherweight. She's not overly muscular, but is more than able to defend herself by fighting. Her eyes are a hazel tone, sometimes varying to light green-brown, sometimes nearly pure green, but always with an outer rim of dark blue and framed by slightly long lashes. Kabé is definitally of Irish decent, with many freckles (she brags of the Big Dipper of strong freckles on her upper left arm, and shows off the paw-print arrangement lower on the same limb) and brown hair that takes on a red-gold glow towards the ends. She was "blessed" (she calls it a curse) with an attractive body shape, so that she often has to punch someone to get them to look her in the eyes. Because of this, she wears baggy clothing. She always wears the Millenium Talisman since she found it caving at camp; another constant accesory is the pale blue sportswatch on her right wrist. Kabé's shirts are often a jewel blue, hardly ever long-sleeved (she wears a hoodie around her waist if the weather might be cold enough to call for it), and her pants are most likely going to be jeans. After aquiring a pair of expensive blue suede clogs a few years ago, she has yet to wear anything else, except her old, raggedy sneakers when she goes on a walk in the woods or something.
Yrior, on the other hand, is more often seen in colorful polo shirts and black full-length gouchos, with the same accesories as Kabé. Her long black hair, shot through with streaks of gold, is pulled back in a braid or a ponytail. Yrior's eyes are golden, rimmed in a rich brown, her skin a bronze given by the harsh desert sun. Taller and lankier than her hikari, Yrior is an imposing figure with enough battle smarts and training to know where someone is most vulnerable, perhaps in part to animal instinct given by the Talisman. She has a habit of punching people on their bruises, and when that does not happen, she often hits hard enough and precisely enough to create a bruise.
~Personality~
View on Humanity : Would rather be living in Ancient Egypt, even if all technology was gone / Finds it hilarious and disturbing how far humanity's declined
Buttons you shouldn't push : Bet you're better than her at something, pick on an animal or her sister, annoy her or insult her / Boast, be obnoxious, be annoying, be stupid, talk behind other's backs, challenge her to a fight
Kabé and Yrior have a similar view on humanity and a similar disposition. While Kabé is a bit more quiet, and more likely to randomly get annoyed by some small thing, Yrior's trust is more hard to gain and once you've lost it, you've lost it. Yrior is harder to annoy, but more violent, while Kabé prefers to pick fights with words (she lives by the rules...for the most part). They are more friendly than not to those who do not present annoying fronts, and are likely to attach very closely to their friends - to the point of fighting for the other's honor. Some may call it obbsession, in which case they would be right. Country music is more their type than rock or classical - rough, funny, upbeat - but occasionally, a strong-beated, whispy or powerful song from another genré will have their favor. Both follow closely to their astrological sign, with a few differences. Niether are big crowd-people, nor will they single themselves out very often. They are cultured, artistic, and therefore quite insane, with both playing an instrument - a cello of considerable beauty and superior sound for Kabé, and the piano for Yrior. Both find it easy to repeat a tune once hearing it, and that is often how they make a few extra bucks when they need to.
~History~
Yrior was born to an underground sect of the extremely religious in Egypt, and raised in the desert, learning how to survive the harsh sands. At the tender age of 11, she stole an abused mare from a group of traveling royalty, naming the strawberry roan/appaloosa horse Racksha, meaning Demon in a language she had picked up. After this, she was allowed to take her own leave, and eventually adopted a stray cat, naming her Terioty. The cat was black, with an almost-ankh shaped splotch of gold on her right forepaw. Terioty would sit on Yrior's lap as they transversed the desert, guarding Egypt, especially the tombs. With a thin, limber sword and a decent bow, Yrior took down crime with a smile and a snort.
Yrior was passing by a smaller village, visiting an old friend and trying to convince her and her brother to leave for a while, when the massacre of the town's people ushered them both out. Eventually, Yrior found them another city, but, being a rogue at heart, denied their offer of staying in the city as well.
Later, after settling down at a small oasis, now lost, near the Valley of the Kings, Yrior met a man about her age, named Novik. The two became friends and partners, Novik with his strong stallion and hunting dog by his side, and both were quite happy with the company.
Yrior was eventually killed in a fight she was outnumbered in, and her ka was stored in the Millenium Talisman.
~~~~~~
Kabé found the Millenium Talisman when she got both tired and bored during a caving trip at an old camp. She hung back, turning off her flashlight for a while. After a few minutes of silence, she turned her flashlight on again and began following the trail of beer cans back to a hidden cavern, muddy and rocky. There, she slipped on something (she was on her hands and knees) and, after turning around, saw the uncovered gold. She spent a few minutes scraping away thick, hard mud from the sides of the shining object, and then picked the cat-shaped figurine up. A flash blinded her, and she was knocked out.
She awoke later, sitting outside the cave, just as the rest of the campers came out. The counselers responsable for the kids were fired, as Kabé was not with the group for most of the guided tour.
It was the next week that she first remembered her wierd dreams, and, with increasing clarity, she began to meet her Yami...
