It was a busy day at the mall, for sure. People scuttled to and fro, absorbed by the materialistic-driven culture they lived in. Malik almost prefered his old life to this one, but...it's hard to beat having a hot dagger carve hieroglyphics into your back. Besides, he was getting used to the urban life - no elbow room, no clean air, no scenery but that of skyscrapers and people.
Heaving a sigh, the slim teen looked at the delapidated pretzel he had bought, wondering who in the hell gave those people the right to sell such...messed up food. He didn't want to eat it, not with the rodent-sized piece already missing.
Leaning back into the cold metal bench, Malik observed his surroundings with lavander-toned eyes, not missing a detail worth noticing.
{Hehe....pretzels...}

The sound of a soft yet sad humming seemed to cut through the mass of people, one could easily spot the source due to the more then noticable tri colored hair that was spiked and was easy to see.
Blank amethyst eyes stared hollowly around, his glance passed over malik as though he didn't even recognise the egyptian...which he didn't. He should have recognised him...but it's so hard to recognise anyone when your memories are erased now isn't it?
Walking on the boy paused at what semed to be the only calm place of the mall, which turned out to be the outdoor butterfly garden, wandering along the winding trails that lead to the middle he slowly sat on a patch of ground and looked around slowly before looking dead ahead with the sad humming continuing onward into the air.

The stark contrast of the short kid's hair against the dull tones of "civil"ization immediately caught the bored eye of Malik. Sitting up, Malik tossed the useless, disgusting "snack" into the trash can conveniently located beside the bench, then rose, calling out Yugi's name.
Something in Yugi's eyes had disturbed the Egyptian, or rather the lack of something. The playful, content spark usually filling the dark violet eyes of the young legend wasn't there. It was replaced by shadow, some sort of darkness...
Taking long strides in his tight tan pants, Malik soon caught up with Yugi, concern touching his features.
"Hey, Yugi," he said, certain to be heard in the relative silence of the butterfly garden.

Yugi's head turned to stare blankly at malik, a faint spark of confusion lit his violet eyes but they were still a bit hollow. He seemed to be wondering who in the hell was talking to him, tilting his head slightly in confusion he said nothing due to the lack of anything to say. That aside he just stared at malik with his toned down eyes not fully understanding the situation.

"Yugi...What?" The last word was a bit of a snap, as Malik was begining to get slightly freaked out.
Marik! he yelled internally, still staring at Yugi about as confused as the lost one. For once, Malik's alter-ego admitted, it's not my fault. Well, so much for the easy way out.
"Yugi, do you not remember me or something? I - him - Marik, the other one - almost sent you to the Shadow Realm? Are you playing some kind of joke?" But no, the blankness behind Yug's eyes would not allow Malik to believe the latter.
Shifting his weight to one foot, thinking that he might be here for a while, Malik continued to wait for some sort of sign that the was really Yugi, and not a long-lost twin of his.
{Hehe}

Yugi seemed to become even more confused by what malik asked him and he seemed to think for a moment before he tilted his head with a sad look in his eyes "Remember? ......I don't remember much of anything these days." he replied as he blinked slowly, he was very confused on who malik or marik was and it shown truthfully in his soft violet eyes.

{after this I gotta go. } Don't remember?... Now THAT was disturbing. How could you not remember something that...important? Amnesia to this degree was practically unheard of. Nearly a life-and-death situation. Unaware of the frown now creasing his tan face, Malik asked another question. "Doesn't Yami remember?" One of them should have! Not remembering much at all...the fact that Yugi didn't remember Malik (or Marik, it seemed) did not offend him, but more worried him. Less concerned with his ego than his friend's safety...he'd come a long way since those dueling days. {HAHA the negative quality of this post proves I need to go to bed. Night!}

(Night)
Yugi seemed to grow even more confused "...Yami?" he asked as though he had no idea who malik was speaking of...which he did not. His eyes were once again hollow and blank with only a little shimmer of confusion in them.

Sh**.
This was even worse than he thought. Running a hand through his pale blonde hair, Malik muttered something under his breath, turning his eyes to the sky. "Ummm." Looking around, the Egyptian spotted nothing to help him, so he again tried to jog Yugi's memory. "What about your Grandpa? Do you remember him?"

Yugi thought but once again his mind drew a complete blank at what malik had said and he shook his head sadly, he looked down now wondering what kind of life he had since he couldn't really remember it to begin with.

Lemme try. Marik shoved Malik aside, taking control of the shared body No!-Damnit. Malik was unsuccessful in resuming control, and resulted to sulking in the background, ready to (try to) take back over, should Marik be anything less than friendly.
"So, little super-boy lost his memory, eh? Hehehe. What happened? One of those losers you hand with - " Marik, seriously, just stop. I swear... Swear what? With Marik slightly distracted, Malik took over again, staggering slightly. "Sorry. That was Marik." The calmer one grinned apologetically. "He's not the nicest dog of the pack...Anyways. What do you remember, if not Yami and your grandpa?"

Yugi looked to him and stood slowly while dusting off his clothes for a moment before turning those hauntingly hollow eyes back at malik which seemed very freaky considring who yugi was "My name and age.....that's all." he replied slowly.

"And nothing else?" A flutter of movement caught Malik's eye, and continued across his line of vision. A butterfly, rich purple with yellow spots and black edges...
If I knew where he lived, maybe it would help him...

Yugi nodded before his gaze turned to the butterfly, his eyes followed it slowly and almost without reason. Slowly as though he body was thinking for it's own his hand raised as he kept his gaze on the flying creature and soon the butterfly landed on his finger without a care and he stared at it silently before a smile crossed his face slowly.

Kinsei wander through the mall, looking around curiously. Suddenly his stomach rumbled and a groan was heard in his head. 'Get something to eat, you fuckwad! I'm hungry too!' 'I'm not really sure how you got such a mouth. And besides, we're broke remember!' 'So go make some money! Hold up a sign that says, TEN DOLLAR BLOWJOB! Guys will flock to you.' '.... you're sick.' 'I try.'
A sigh escaped Kinsei mouth before his stomach gave another rumble. He looked longingly at the food court, the smells of pizza and pretzels and ice cream hitting his nose. A thought suddenly dinged into his head. Sitting down onto a bench he pulled out his art pad and wrote in big letters,'Will draw for money! You set the price!' He held it up and smiled.
